Hello there,
I hope you're having a brilliant start to the week!
Progress!
Here are the TLDR bullet points on our current progress:
Printing is underway and the factory will send me the first Mass Production Copy for inspection next month (this is identical to what you will be receiving)
Manufacturing is estimated to complete in July, so we can expect the games and artbooks to start landing at fulfilment hubs worldwide in August
Surveys are locked and loaded so we're all set and hurtling towards that summer shipping. If you're one of the few who still haven't completed your survey: I urge you to do so asap as it would be such a shame to miss out on the amazing world of Kilforth, and as our returning backers will attest, our products tend to sell through very quickly once they've landed. Fri, 2 Jun 2023 – Sun, 4 Jun 2023 sees the UK's answer to GenCon take place, and we will be there in our usual spot at Stand 1-1016 offering a welcoming smile and fist bump to any and all-comers. Call of Kilforth April 2023 - Pre-Production Copies arrived! Files are submitted!

Hello there,
Pre-Production Copies arrived! Final files are submitted!
Yes indeedy, the PPCs arrived! We've been through every single bloomin' card (and there are a LOT of cards) and about a novella's worth of flavour text, scouring for typos, and going over every single ability and bit of game text to try to make everything as clear and as cool and as smooth as possible. And now the final files have been approved and submitted for print. The factory is aiming to commence production ASAP. We're waiting for a more concrete completion date and we will keep you posted, naturally, but for now we are still on track for delivery to you guys this summer.
I'm not saying it's the most gorgeous game we've created yet, but it's definitively the most gorgeous game we've created yet! :D I had the choice to either send our one precious copy of the game away for a photo shoot to share some beautiful pics with you, or to have a certain awesome YouTube legend record a play of the game for you to enjoy instead. Absent those beautiful pics, you'll have to guess which choice I opted for! :P

Hello there,
The factories are open again after Chinese New Year, our files have been submitted, and we've had plenty of feedback, and spotted a couple of typos, so all revisions have been re-submitted and we are done! We're just waiting for the Pre-Production Copies of the games to be manufactured and sent out to us for approval. In the meantime...
Yes, this beautiful artbook is printing now, so we can deliver it alongside your copies of Call of Kilforth in just a few months' time,
It's a lovingly curated compilation of over 200 images across all of the Kilforth games and expansions,
Yes, Gloom of Kilforth Promo Packs 1 and 2 + the Dark Call alternative art expansion will all be up for grabs, albeit everything in the campaign will only be offered in quantities limited by available stocks,

Call of Kilforth, January 2023 – Off to Print!

Hello there,
What a smashing start to 2023... :D
Files of to the printers!
All the files have been submitted to the printers and I've approved all the digital proofs so it's in the hands of the printers now. They will of course be shutting down for Chinese New Year, but production will hopefully begin shortly afterwards. This should still leave us on track for delivery in Q2 and as always we'll keep you posted on developments.
Some of you may remember the ship dice we hinted at experimenting with in a previous update – these were removed from the final game. The dice were supposed to simulate rolling hits in ship combat but they added too much additional complexity to an already complex game but not nearly enough fun, so we totally revamped how the ships work by using the new Galleon cards and Ship/Power tokens instead. Also, the new Fated Doubloon tokens offer a method of playing all 3 Kilforth games entirely without dice if you're the type of player who feels like the dice sometimes hate you. That said, the land of Kilforth is still horribly dangerous, and just because you don't have dice, doesn't mean the game will go easy on you! The play-testers have been having a lot of fun playing the game with all the new stuff, some even say it's the best Kilforth game yet but of course we'll leave that to you to decide when it lands. And don't forget that the rulebook is available to peruse whilst you wait:
We're soon going to run a crowdfunding campaign for the Art of Kilforth Artbook. If you pledge for the Artbook (and/or any extras) we'll be able to ship these items out to you along with your Call of Kilforth pledge. It's going to be a 104 page hardbound A4 sized beauty filled with over 200 eye-wateringly gorgeous images that transport you into the world of Kilforth, and it will not be available in stores. So stay tuned here for the launch and more details...
